Video on how to obtain a marriage license in Vermont. (For people who don't like reading)
HOW DO WE MARRY IN VERMONT?
Justice of the Peace Carmen George
To legally marry in Vermont you need to purchase a marriage license. Complete this marriage license form and take it to the Vermont city clerk in the Vermont town here you live. If you are from out of state, you can go to any Vermont city clerk to purchase your license. Depending on the size of the town you go to, purchasing a license can take 10 minutes or three days. Therefore, I recommend going to a large town or city, they are faster.

DO WE NEED A WITNESS?
Not in Vermont,
WHAT INFORMATION DOES THE CITY CLERK NEED?
Vermont you just need a federally issued identification. If you were married before you will need to know the date your divorce was finalized.
In Burlington it is $60.00 (cash or check) or $63.00 for credit card payment. Call the city clerk in the town where you are going to apply and confirm which methods of payment they accept. Some small downs don't accept credit cards.
AFTER I PURCHASE THE LICENSE, WHAT WE DO?
Before your ceremony, you give it to me, Justice of the Peace Carmen George. I will complete the marriage certificate and mail it to the city clerk's office where you purchased it. The clerk will mail you a certified copy of your marriage license.
