At a Vermont town clerk's office. If you live in Vermont, you need to go to the clerk's office in the town where you live. Out of staters may go to any town clerk's office.

If your marriage ended because of divorce, you need the date your divorce was finalized.
If you your spouse died, you will need a copy of their death certificate.
