At any city clerk in the state of Vermont.

WHAT INFORMATION DOES THE CLERK NEED?

Everything on this form plus identification.

DO WE NEED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE CLERK?

I recommend that you make one. Some towns require it and others do not. Call and ask them.

WHAT IDENTIFICATIONS DO CLERKS ACCEPT?

Any of the following valid forms of identification:

  • Passport

  • Driver's License

  • Birth Certificate

$60 for license and $10 for mailing you a copy.

WHAT IF I WAS MARRIED BEFORE?

If your marriage ended because of divorce, you need the date your divorce was finalized.
 

If you your spouse died, you will need a copy of their death certificate. 

WHAT IS THE MINIUM AGE TO MARRY IN VERMONT?

18

Purchase your marriage license (60 or fewer days before your wedding) and give it to me when I arrive at your wedding.
